At The Market

We’d feel so lucky if you would join us at market this weekend. And you might find our vendors have a few things to get you into a St. Patrick’s Day mood!

Here’s a sneak peek of vendor offerings for this Saturday:

Hunt Heritage Farm:
Hello friends this week we will have free range chicken eggs, pasture raised pork lard and the last of our spaghetti squash an garlic. For pasture raised pork we will have breakfast sausage, mild Italian sausage, pork chops, pork steaks, smoked hams, bacon, pork fat, smoked bones and organs meats for dogs.

Stony Acres will be having a little bit of spinach and baby kale, eggs, pastured chicken ( whole and pieces), pastured pork.

Elsewhere Farms will be at the market on Saturday with Elderberry cuttings.  We have been growing elders for several years and are now a licensed nursery!

We have several named varieties, all grown without chemicals  -Wyldewood, Scotia, and Johns as well as an unknown varietal of Sambucus Canadensis that grows well in our area. We also have a hybrid of European and American elder called Marge.

Cuttings are bundled per variety at 3 for $10, 5 for $15 and 10 for $25. You can also get a mixed bundle of 10 for $25. Elders are easy to propagate, just find a spot where they will get good sun, keep them watered, and eliminate weed pressure as they establish by mulching around them, which will help retain moisture as well! When the ground is not frozen, simply push the beveled end of the cutting into the soil, burying the bottom node and leaving the top node above ground.  Next year you’ll have berries!

If you can’t make it there, farm pick up is possible, let us know.

Ms. Linzy’s Mac-n-Cheese will be bringing a small batch of “Hot and Ready” Original and my two new Winter flavors “ Philly Cheesesteak” and “Pulled Pork” macaroni and cheese, I am very excited for you to try them. I will also have cookie topped brownies, a variety of freezer friends and merchandise. I will not be at the March 26th market because I have another event that day.

Riedman Happy Hives will BEE at market with the sweet stuff… local honey in 1 and 2 lb jars!  See you there!
